Community Involvement
CGG promotes a collaborative approach to operating in any area by forming long-term partnerships with local communities, organizations and businesses.
This is a way to develop a framework for employment, business opportunities, long-term economic development and training of local population. It is also a way to share profits equally between all stakeholders in the nearby communities: local staff, clients, suppliers, contractors, government, etc.
Encouraging Local Employment
CGG bases its local development on building up local labor pools. We employ local staff whom we train in:
- Our lines of business
- Managing the environment
- Occupational health and safety
Encouraging Local Purchasing
Whenever and wherever possible, CGG also encourages local purchasing in order to participate in the local economic 'dynamism', and so that we continually re-invest in the communities in which we work.
Encouraging Partnerships with Universities and Training Centers
CGG has established several partnerships focused on advancing education, under which:
- Scholarships are awarded
- Students have access to our technology
- CGG experts are involved as teachers and lecturers
As well as encouraging local employment, local purchasing and local education, CGG supports the efforts of various other stakeholders including clients, local authorities, NGOs, etc. CGG also encourages:
- Its employees' initiatives
- Partnerships with local organizations, particularly in the fields of education, health, earth sciences and protection of the environment
